Performance characteristics for integrated molecular pathology were determined using a standard 2 x 2 table. For purposes of data analysis, molecular diagnoses of “benign” or “statistically indolent” were grouped into a low malignant potential category and molecular diagnoses of “statistically higher risk” or “aggressive” were grouped into a high malignant potential category.
Benign
Patient has no molecular abnormalities. Clinical features do not influence this diagnosis.
Statistically Indolent
Patient has at least one molecular abnormality but has no clinically worrisome features.
Statistically Higher Risk
Patient has at least one molecular abnormality and may have one or more clinically worrisome features.
Aggressive
Patient has two or more significant molecular abnormalities. Clinical features do not influence this diagnosis.
